Feel the excitement of the surprise reveals in the video below!
"As we say at the Passover Seder, if AIGYA had only helped us to select a program for my son – it would have been enough for us. As it turns out, God repaid our efforts in traveling from Arizona for the fair with Rory’s win of the Rosina Korda Gap Year Scholarship. We are extremely grateful to AIGYA and to the Korda family for partnering with us to send our son to Israel for his gap year." -Charles Meyerson
Mrs. Korda was a child of Holocaust survivors, an accomplished school psychologist, loving wife and mother, and a pillar of the Los Angeles community. This scholarship reflects Rosina's deep love of Judaism and connection to Israel.
Robert Korda, Rosina's husband explains, "Rosina's love affair with Israel was generational. Her father kept five pictures on his dresser; his three children lost in the Holocaust, Ben Gurion and Golden Meir. Family and Israel is what he held dear and so did Rosina. Our sons spent a combined 7 years in Israel after high school. She would be so proud that a scholarship in her name would be used to encourage students to go on a gap year in Israel."
The gift is for three scholarships and will be awarded to students planning to attend a boys, girls, or co-ed program represented at the AIGYA Fair. Applications will be sent to students who attend the fair and apply to participating programs.
